Important Notice to Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs):

  1. Please verify that the provider you work for is licensed by the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), a school serving children with special needs or a correctional facility in which you perform nursing or nurse related duties.

  2. The work performed shall include nursing or nurse related duties (similar to the duties performed by certified nurse aides who are working in nursing homes).

If you normally work for a provider who is not licensed by the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) or if you do not perform nursing or nurse related duties; you will need to work in an approved setting and perform nursing or nurse related duties for at least 8 hours during every 2 year period after being certified in order to maintain your certification. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the loss of your certification.

Important Notices (Nursing Homes)

In order to enhance productivity and ensure a more expedient means of posting work history to the registry, we are transitioning to a paperless system using LARS. Effective April 2, 2012, all Nursing Homes are asked to have a LARS user account created and to begin submitting work history via this system. If any paper NAT-7 forms are received after this date, the registry will accept the forms but will contact you regarding establishing a LARS account.

Facilities will have the opportunity to report work history for CNAs employed by staffing agencies using LARS in the future; however, the registry will continue to accept paper NAT-7 forms submitted for these CNAs in the interim. If you need assistance creating your account, please contact the Nurse Aide Registry.
